The second installment of The Secret Show, titled The Secret Show 2, introduced a new body of paintings and drawings in acrylic and oil. Sponsored by WYNK, the event served as a catalyst for fresh connection — inviting new eyes and community into the evolving direction of MANUEL’s work.
THE SECRET SHOW, 2023
A mix of never-before-seen paintings and drawings of various sizes and mediums, ranging from acrylic, oil pastel, & oil stick. This is the first installment of the "Secret Show" series created by MANUEL. It is intended to provide an intimate experience with a curated guest list designed to bring together new and existing collectors around the artist’s works.
AFTER, 2022
This is a collection of oil pastel works on various sized paper. The “After” series is comprised of drawings that draw inspiration famous/existing compositions.
NOIR, 2022
This is a collection of oil pastel works on black construction paper of various sizes, following the insights that would come from Morning Stretches and expounding on these ideas at a larger scale.
CRUSH, 2022
This is a collection of monochromatic oil pastel works on 11.5 x 9 inch paper, inspired by the inability to stop drinking cans Orange Crush for a while.
FIGURATIVE STUDIES, 2021
This is a collection of charcoal and water color works on various sized paper. These studies derive from a book of 1000 nudes, as well as dabbling with models.
MORNING STRETCH, 2021 - 2022
This is a series of oil pastel works on various-sized paper. This series was born from a desire to wake up and draw first thing in the morning. Similar to a journal entry, each excerpt is an opportunity for the artist to capture their primal thoughts and feelings on paper. This is where practice becomes performance.
PHASES, 2020
Phase II is a collection of acrylic, oil pastel, and mixed media works on canvas. These new paintings merge the earlier character-based style with elements of figurative abstraction, serving as the starting point for the artist to explore this new style.
Early Works, 2016-17
This is a collection of large-scale acrylic, spray, and mixed media works on canvas, making the artists first official series to be shared publicly. Reflective of intuitive and sensible choices, and emboldened with recognizable characters, these works exemplify a rawness that would springboard the artist’s journey in balancing narrative and style.
